Pancakes…Everyone’s Favorite Breakfast
Who doesn’t love pancakes? Whether it’s for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, most people you talk to will say that they have always loved this food. They are fairly easy to make and they taste absolutely delicious. Top them off with syrup and maybe some fruit (if you like fruit) and you have a sweet and very tastey meal. However, like most sweet treats, pancakes are not the healthiest meal choice. And adding too much syrup on top doesn’t help that! I have found a recipe that makes pancakes only 32 calories each!
The key is to avoid the processed box mixes at all cost. If you make your pancakes from scratch, they don’t have to be bad for you! This recipe tells you the six ingredients you’ll need to make healthy, delicious pancakes. The recipe also suggests topping them with honey instead of syrup. However, if you prefer to use syrup on your pancakes (I know I do), try to not use too much of it. This will help you to keep your delicious meal of pancakes as healthy as possible! Skinny Cake Batter Ice Cream
Who doesn’t love ice cream? It’s a delicious dessert that everyone has probably loved since they were a little kid. Today there are so many flavors to choose from. I was just on vacation in Florida and I had carrot cake flavored ice cream, and it was amazing. When I go to get Fro-Yo, I always go straight to the cake batter flavor. The same goes for eating ice cream; if I see the flavor cake batter, I will immediately get it. However, like most desserts, ice cream is not good for you to eat at all. While it may taste good, the health side of the delicious treat is not that great. But, here’s the great part, I have found a recipe for healthier cake batter flavored ice cream that you can make right in your own kitchen!
With only four ingredients, this ice cream sounds like it would be absolutely amazing to eat. All you need to make this is boxed cake mix, diet soda, fat free whipped topping, and fat free sweetened condensed milk. Mix these all together, put it in the freezer, and a few hours later you will have a deliciously amazing ice cream that won’t make you feel guilty about eating it afterwards!
Cauliflower Buffalo “Wings”
Who doesn’t love buffalo wings? Almost anyone you talk to will tell you that it is one of their favorite things to eat. Whether it’s for an appetizer, a snack, or your actual meal, they are always delicious. Paired with blue cheese or ranch dressing for dipping, the only healthy part of this meal are the celery and carrots you get on the side. But, like we all know, the things that taste the best are usually the worst for you. However, I have found a recipe that turns these delicious buffalo chicken wings and makes them healthy. The only difference: it’s cauliflower, not chicken.
I can say from experience that these cauliflower buffalo wings are amazing. My mom has made them, along with making the blue cheese recipe, and there is not a bad thing to say about them. While chicken isn’t always “bad” for you, eating veggies is obviously the healthier choice. This recipe eliminates any thought that the meal could possibly be unhealthy. All it is is cauliflower bites covered in buffalo sauce. You can make the sauce as mild or as spicy as you like so that it completely satisfies your personal taste. The blue cheese dressing you make for dipping is also a bit healthier than using regular blue cheese, and of course, you can substitute that for ranch if you prefer. Now you can have your favorite buffalo “wings” and know that is is 100% healthier for you with this alternate way to make them!
There are so many delicious foods to make for breakfast. Between pancakes, waffles, french toast, eggs, it’s hard to choose what the best breakfast food is. One of my favorites are crepes. I don’t have them often, but when I do, they are amazing. Everything about them is delicious. You can put powdered sugar on them, fruit, syrup, basically anything you want you can put on or in your crepe (even ice cream)! But, like most delicious foods, crepes are not that healthy for you. Besides the fruit, everything about a crepe is high in calories and fat content. However, I have actually found a recipe that makes crepes healthy!
These healthy crepes are easy to make, and they are under 30 calories each! I can’t think of anything better than that. You can still put whatever you want on them, so be careful because we can all easily turn these healthy crepes into unhealthy crepes. Just add some fruit and jelly, or small amount of peanut butter, syrup, and whipped cream, and you have a delicious breakfast everyone will want.
Light BBQ Chicken Pizza
Who doesn’t love pizza? We all love the delicious taste that pizza provides. Everyone has those days where we crave the taste of a warm slice (or two) of pizza. However, the one downside to this favorite food is that it is not very healthy to eat. The crust is fattening and there’s also a lot of cheese, which is fattening as well. This doesn’t stop us from eating it though. Some people may take that bite into the slice and wonder, how can I keep eating my favorite meal, but have it be a little bit healthier for me. So what makes this pizza healthier than regular pizza? The secret is in the best part…the crust. Rather than a regular flour based crust, this recipe calls for a cauliflower based crust. Removing the flour from the crust and replacing it with cauliflower removes over 100 calories from the final product. In one slice of this BBQ Chicken pizza, there is only 157 calories. The cauliflower crust adds in tons of veggies that we normally wouldn’t get if we had a regular slice of pizza. Flourless Fudge Cookies…For Only 68 Calories!
Who can deny that dessert is everyone’s favorite “meal” of the day? We would be lying if we said that we all didn’t love some sweet treats. Whether we eat them as snacks throughout the day, or solely for dessert after dinner, dessert always tastes delicious. One of my personal favorite sweet treats is chocolate chip cookies. They have been a favorite of mine since I was little. Put a plate of chocolate chip cookies in front of me and I will keep eating them until I have a stomach ache. They are definitely one of the yummiest of all the desserts!
However, there is one problem that we all face when we want to buy, and then eat, chocolate chip cookies: they have a lot of calories and they are not that good for you. In an age of people who are constantly trying to lose weight, get in shape, be healthy, and eat clean, it’s hard to find sweet treats that are “good” for you. Now we can all relax! This recipe is not only for regular chocolate chip cookies, but fudge chocolate chip cookies. And get this, they are only 68 calories each! The secret is that the cookies are flourless. Removing the flour from the recipe cuts down the calorie count by almost half, reduces the amount of fat in the cookies, and removes the gluten from the recipe as well. Now you can eat a delicious cookie and not feel guilty about it afterwards!
